In an increasingly digitised reality, our interactions with war are often filtered through the screen. This review, If you sense it coming, may be too late: digital screen as window into warfare, focuses on Es Devlin and Machiko Weston’s I Saw World End (2020) enmeshing of distanced spectatorship abstract intimacy that provides a warfare. The artist’s collaborative conceptualisation 1945 atomic bombings entangles virtual physical co-presence its publicly networked projection. artwork enacts personal, societal, cultural dialogue for past future atrocities warfare fragility humanity, epitomizing digital’s art’s innate responsibility to bear witness critique such events.
